It’s the best time of year for this Oreo Peppermint Bark recipe. It’s so easy and the perfect amount of sugar to satisfy those holiday cravings.
The perfect mix of chocolate, cookie and peppermint all in one bite . This Oreo Peppermint bark is a bit thicker than your typical peppermint bark but it’s so much more delicious in my opinion. The bits of hidden Oreo are a great addition to this simple holiday treat.
What you’ll need:
- Dark chocolate or Milk chocolate morsels (2 cups)
- White chocolate morsels (2 cups)
- Oreos (1-4 cookies)
- Candy cane (use pre-crushed bags or crush them yourself at home)
First, melt the dark chocolate (microwave in 15-30 second increments until fully melted) and spread evenly on parchment paper in a rectangular shape. Leave a little extra so you can use to drizzle on top later on. It doesn’t need to be perfect, you’ll end up breaking it all apart anyway.
Next, crush 1-4 Oreo cookies and sprinkle on top of the melted chocolate layer. Once evenly spread across the chocolate, toss in the freezer to set while you prep the next few ingredients.
Melt the white chocolate next and once ready take out the Oreo layer from freezer. It only needs a few minutes to harden. Drizzle the white chocolate over the cookie and lightly spread with a knife to cover the Oreo chunks. You can add your crushed peppermint at this point or feel free to go back in with any remaining milk or dark chocolate. I like to drizzle a little extra of dark chocolate on top.
Lastly, sprinkle the crushed candy cane to coat the chocolate completely. Set in the fridge for 2-3 hours or until it’s fully hardened. Break it up with your hands or use a knife to push it apart. Plate them to serve or you can also bag these in clear wrap and add a bow for gifting out.
These are a great gifting snack for teachers, coworkers, family and friends. We love to bring it to holiday parties or even make it for a weekend away where we can indulge. This Oreo Peppermint Bark is so simple and always a seasonal favorite.
