Moody season is upon us! I needed to get out of the house and get my crafty fix by doing a DIY Halloween Inspired Wreath.
I find the seasonal wreaths to be very expensive or not exactly what I’m going for so obviously had to take it upon myself. All the material I got at Hobby Lobby.
The Dollar Tree and Amazon have plenty of floral decor that could work as well.
Decorating gives me so much joy. I get lost in my head sometimes so when I’m feeling inspired I need to just go for it.
My fiancé and I just laugh when he comes home to the house a complete mess and I’m sitting in the middle of it. It’s usually immediate eye contact and a silent smile before he asks our dog “What’s mama getting into now?”.
To put my decorating excitement into words, I’d say like it’s like a kid finding Christmas presents in their parents closest the week before Christmas and all the wrapping paper is off and everywhere.
WHY DIY?
DIY wreaths are new for me but I like the challenge and find it satisfying to know it’s one of a kind. See my Christmas Wreath that is also an absolute favorite of mine. I figure why not try a DIY Halloween inspired wreath as well. I call this halloween inspired due to the touch of black roses against purple. Something about that combo just screams halloween to me and I LOVE IT!
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I wanted to create a halloween vibe but still have the Fall colors so that it fits for the season, I call moody season.
Looks best during the day in natural light. The golden hour hitting this is a vibe!
How to create this look:
I cut down all the stems on all the flowers and stared on the inside of the wreath. I placed colors every other trying to balance out the burgundy and orange first. Then I put the two sunflowers on opposite sides but I do think it would look cute placed together as well. In my head, the two large flowers are a symbolic touch to our door since it’s just my fiancé and I living there. LOL I’m a weirdo..idk.
The wreath base I chose had pipe cleaner pieces glued to wire so that is how I attached the flowers by wrapping around and locking them in place. Once it became thicker the flowers just kind of stuck in place where I pushed them in for extra “fluff”.
This DIY Halloween Inspired Wreath is another favorite that I hope brings you inspiration for this Fall/Halloween season.
