One of my favorite DIY’s to date!
For some reason my eye tends to go toward the most bizarre priced decor. I made it a mission to conquer a DIY Holiday Wreath and this is how it turned out.
This is a DIY holiday wreath I was able to put together for $30. I first bought a basic starter wreath from Walmart and the additional decor used I found at JoAnn Fabric’s ranging from $3.99-$20.
So, you may be wondering what the hell I was looking at that triggered this project…good ole ARHAUS! Fun fact, I worked sales for them back in the day, which may or may not have led to my obsession.
Anyway, I wanted to recreate this Arhaus holiday wreath that I found on their website but it was so far out of my price range. I am still absolutely in love with the aesthetic, therefore I had to try to DIY.
You can still purchase similar options on their website, however, they no longer show the original one I fell in love with. See below for the OG inspired beauty herself:

MY DIY version:
HOW I MADE IT:
I started with a basic wreath that had nothing other than that starter Christmas tree material. I then looked for lighter shades of green and kept in mind the light and airy feel rather than overwhelming colors.
I wanted to incorporate the different textures of green throughout adding a bit of gold and of course lights to get that true magical touch.
I started wrapping the wreath with the largest pieces evenly around and twisting into place. There was a lot of trial and error but once it all looked balanced out I could start adding in the smaller pieces. A lot of the greenery had wire, which was easy to stick through and tie in place.
Cut as you need and get extra wire if you need more security. I didn’t need to do this with what I had here but sometimes I find decor pieces lacking stability for it to hold in place properly.
Lastly, add in the lights! This was my favorite part.
Turn them on so you can see where exactly the light peaks through. You’ll have to play around with hiding the wire but it’s very doable.
Another tip is to hang the wreath up before placing the timer on/off box into place. Set the timer to your preferred time and let the wreath work its magic.
My timer is set for 8 hours and turns on right at dusk. I’ll go through about 1 battery change during the season but I do have this up for a good two months!
A little effort and patience goes a long way with this one! It came out so pretty and I’m reusing for a second year. I absolutely love how this came out and hope it inspires you for the holiday season.
