Follow below for this step by step mouth-watering side dish.
If i’m being honest, carrots are not my “go-to” or top favorite vegetable but if you mix the right ingredients you can really elevate the flavor. This is definitely my favorite way to make them.
What you’ll need:
- 4 – 5 medium to large carrots
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp raw organic honey
- fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste (optional)
Directions:
- Peel and cut the carrots into 1/2″-1″ pieces. Try to keep the size consistent so they cook evenly.
- Bring the carrots to a boil and take out after about 5 minutes.
- In a separate pan add the butter and stir consistently until it’s fully melted and bubbling (medium heat).
- Slowly add the brown sugar then honey into the melted butter and mix consistently until dissolved into a paste-like glaze.
- Slowly add in your carrots, you’ll hear them sizzle and soak up that glaze mixture. Keep heat medium-high but continue to mix around until fully coated in the buttered sugar.
- Cook for about 10 minutes while giving them a good stir every so often but let them fully soak up that butter glaze.
- Plate and add fresh parsley for garnish and salt and pepper to taste.
