This is my favorite Bread Bowl Spinach Dip Recipe. I love bringing this to parties or having it out for when people come over. It’s so easy to make and tastes delicious!
This is one of my favorite appetizers to make. This recipe is a warm version of spinach dip and the cheese melting into the bread bowl is just the perfect combo.
I like to get the sourdough bread bowl but you can use whatever you prefer. Start by cutting out the top of the bread and pull out some of the bread inside but leave enough to cushion the outer shell so it doesn’t collapse.
For the spinach, I used fresh and sautéed it in a pan until fully cooked. You can also use frozen spinach but the key is to get out all the moisture. Use a paper towel to absorb the excess water BEFORE adding in your cheese.
Next, add in a 8oz block of cream cheese into the pan. Lower the heat and add a little bit of water to help is melt and stir occasionally. Once fully melted into the spinach add in some salt and pepper and top with mozzarella cheese.
Once the dip is fully mixed together, let it sit for about 5 minutes before adding it into the bread bowl. Last thing you want is for the bread to dissolve and the dip to seep out onto the plate.
The extra bread that you took off at the beginning can be used for dipping. I also sometimes cut up veggies and have extra crackers for a health conscious alternative.
This one goes quick so hope you enjoy it!
