Pizza is my love language. A comfort food that is a bit on the healthier side is this must try Arugula Prosciutto Pizza.
Pizza is probably my favorite food so sometimes you need to switch it up from your basic cheese slice. This recipe is so simple especially when short on time but absolutely starving.
For this recipe you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Flat bread crust (precooked or feel free to use your own dough)
- Olive oil
- Mozzarella cheese
- Prosciutto
- Minced Garlic
- Lemon
- Arugula
- Parmesan Cheese
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
First, you’ll want to preheat your oven to 350F. Then grab the flatbread crust and drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil and evenly spread across. Add the garlic as well.
These are some favorite flatbreads to use for this recipe:
Now top with the mozzarella cheese in chunks. They can be big or small it doesn’t really matter since it will melt all over.
THAT’S IT! Place that flat bread in the oven and have it cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges start to brown.
While the pizza is cooking, prep your arugula in a bowl. Mix in 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and lemon juice. Add about 1 tablespoon of parmesan cheese and set aside until the pizza is ready.
Arugula is known to have antioxidants so you can feel good about these added greens!
One the pizza is done and cooling, take pieces of prosciutto and lay it all over the pizza. Add as much or as little as you want. Then top it with the arugula salad. I also add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a bit of a kick but this of course is optional.
Cut it up and enjoy!
This Arugula Prosciutto Pizza is a great app as well. Perfect ingredients that will hold you over but also not feel as heavy as your typical pizza toppings.
