The best BBQ Chicken recipe for any pizza lover!
Try this simple homemade BBQ Chicken Pizza that is so simple to make for any hectic day of the week. We are all so busy with a million thing on our To-Do List but who can’t make time for pizza night? Plus there’s no better way than knowing exactly what ingredients are going into it.
BBQ Chicken is one of my favorite toppings and works perfect when you have no pizza sauce in the house. Substitute with BBQ sauce and you’re all set. The sauce layer IS your BBQ sauce and trust me it doesn’t disappoint. The only downside is most BBQ sauces are loaded with sugar so try to find a healthier version to stock in your house for back up. Here are a few favorites:
You can use any type of a dough that you prefer but I typically buy a few cauliflower crusts during the week of last minute meals such as this one. I’ll thaw out the crust and then add a thin layer of BBQ sauce as the base.
For the chicken you can either cook it or buy pre-cooked. I typically will buy a cooked rotisserie chicken and shred it up. I’ll put a cup of the chicken in a bowl to mix with bbq sauce and cheese before adding it to the pizza.
Once I have an even layer of chicken coating the pizza I had the best part — CHEESE! Add your favorite. I’ll do a mix of shredded cheese or stick to mozzerella. You can’t go wrong either way.
Place the pizza in the oven (preheat at 350) and cook for about 15-20 minutes or until edges start to brown. Once finished feel free to add more BBQ sauce and fresh cilantro for some extra flavor.
This recipe insanely easy and perfect for spur of the moment cravings. You can change up your sauce preference and toppings as well. Best part is that possibilities are endless when it comes to pizza. Happy Eating!
