These pretzel candies are the perfect mix of salty and sweet. This is a quick recipe that is great for the holiday season.
These Pretzel Candies are insanely easy to make but make sure to make enough because they go way too quick. Here is the three step recipe to satisfy those sweet tooth cravings.
Since I was a little, sugar has been my kryptonite. No meal was ever complete unless there was a last taste of sweetness. It’s always been a weakness of mine but I’m perfectly okay with it!
The pretzel candies recipe is my go to for when I need something quick but don’t have the time or patience to whip up a full on time consuming dessert. It’s the perfect bite size too so you’ll feel a little better about portion but do you have the self control to stop at one?!
What you’ll need:
- M&M’s
- Rolo’s or Hershey Kisses
- Pretzels (square shape works best)
It’s as simple as it looks. Grab a baking sheet, layer parchment paper and place the pretzels across evenly. Top the pretzels with Rolos or Hershey kisses. Preheat your oven to 300 degrees and place them in the oven for about 2-3 minutes or until you see the chocolate start to melt. DON’T LET THEM FULLY MELT. Take them out quickly and have your m&m’s ready!
I’ve made the mistake so many times of walking away for even a minute and the chocolate has completely melted.. Just start over because no one likes burnt chocolate.
I find 3 minutes to be the sweet spot but keep your eye on it. Every oven heats differently. Once you take them out, quickly place one m&m on top of each one gently. with your finger, slowly push the m&m into the chocolate so that it forms kind of a “donut” shape. It’s ok if they get messy, they don’t need to be perfect. Trust me, they will get eaten regardless if a few look off. Try to keep the chocolate from overlapping off the pretzel but if it does, no worries. They’ll still be fine.
After you have the m&m’s all set in place. Move them to the fridge to cool down for a few hours. Best if left over night but feel free to sneak a few taste testers as they cool down and harden. I know I can’t resist trying one or two.
These are so easy to make for any last minute plans, parties, holiday get-together’s, etc. Also, these pretzel candies are perfect for THAT time of month. You can just snack on these when you need that salty/sweet chocolate fix.
I hope you enjoy this simple recipe that will become your new favorite thing to share with family, friends or hide them and keep for yourself. I love a secret stash!
